5. The time sense of the progressive form
The progressive form can express all the time with the past tense, the present tense and "will." For example, "is + the progressive form" is the present and "was + the progressive form" is the past.

It is thought the durative act is the main usage but it is a part of the usages. The inherent meaning is paying attention to the act.
