5.4. The present perfect progressive form and the present progressive form
Both of the present perfect progressive form (PrPPro) and the present progressive form (PrPro) can be felt the durative act.
Do you know the differences between them?

PrPro has the durative act at the present obscurely. PrPPro has it from a certain past to the present.

a. She is making a birthday cake.
b. She has been making a birthday cake.

In the above, the choice depends on the speaker's feeling. If s/he has a certain past in mind, (30b) is used, if not, (30a) is used.
